The 2nd ‘BeerMuda Triangle’ beer festival takes place 24th – 27th Jan, 2013. The 1st event last year, a collaboration between three town pubs – the Castle, Just Beer and Prince Rupert – was designed to replace the now defunct Newark CAMRA Winter beer festival held at the Town Hall. Saturday 18th February saw the presentation to this year’s Newark CAMRA Pub of the Year winner, Just Beer Micropub. A buffet of sandwiches, nibbles and a specially made pork pie donated by Porters of Bridge Street, was provided to soak up the good ale on offer; Five beers were on the bar, all priced at £2 per pint between 1 and 5 o’clock. The Just Beer Micropub in Newark is holding its first mini beer festival to coincide with the Newark Beer Festival, and will run from Thu 26th – Mon 30th May. Around 25 beers will be available at all times, either from handpump or directly from the cellar, ensuring perfect serving temperature on all beers. Micro pub update

Work is gathering pace on the Just Beer Micro pub since the keys were finally handed over last week. All the internal walls and fittings have now been removed, with just the ceiling t0  come down over the next couple of days. The builders start on Monday putting it all back together and bringing the vision to a realisation. Internal fitting and decoration will then follow with the pub hopefully opening mid to late June.
