A message from Tracey, our Social Secretary: I am planning a pub cycle ride on Saturday, 6th April starting at 11.00 hours at the Wharf, Newark (outside the Castle Barge). The route will incorporate visiting four pubs and meeting the bus-riding members at the Final Whistle at Southwell where we shall support the presentation of their Certificate of Merit, which will be taking place at 3pm. The 2nd ‘BeerMuda Triangle’ beer festival takes place 24th – 27th Jan, 2013. The 1st event last year, a collaboration between three town pubs – the Castle, Just Beer and Prince Rupert – was designed to replace the now defunct Newark CAMRA Winter beer festival held at the Town Hall. Just Beer Micropub in Newark, winners of CAMRA Nottinghamshire Pub of the Year ward, have their presentation this coming Saturday, 7th July. Celebrations start at 1.30 and the 4 Tapsters have promised some great beers to suit the occasion, including two from brand-new breweries. There will also be a free buffet to soak up the beer.
