Newark CAMRA Branch Christmas Social
It may seem a long way off but time flies! As usual, the December meeting will be a social event rather than a branch meeting. This year we have chosen Castle Cuisine at 2 Castle Gate, Newark and have booked half the restaurant for a sit-down meal. Guests are welcome to all our social events so feel free to invite friends and family.
The restaurant is unlicensed so we can take our own alcohol of choice. The restaurant does sell soft drinks and requests that we do not take our own. They have kindly allowed us to provide a cask of ale for general consumption which will be for sale at a discounted price, to be announced once we know what it costs us. With this event following so close on the heels of the Winter Beer Festival, we will have a price in good time.
The restaurant runs a party menu at £23.95 per head which includes a poppadum, mixed starter, a main of choice per person, plus a side dish and a naan of choice (shared between two people). Please let the Social secretary know of any specific dietary requirements well in advance.
Numbers are initially restricted to 30 for this event so we need to know if you are coming. We are using “Tckty” to sell tickets for the deposit of £10 each, which will reserve your seat at the table on a first come, first served basis. Please click this link to pay your £10 to reserve your space.
There will be a waiting list for cancellations, should this event prove popular. Your initial £10 will go towards your bill with the balance of £13.95, plus any tip you may like to leave, payable on the night by cash or card. This is a very busy time of year for hospitality so if you need to cancel, please let the Social Secretary know in good time. If your seat can be resold then you will receive a full refund, if not, then I’m afraid the restaurant will retain the deposit.
Many of us will meet up in a pub in town for a drink or two before heading to the restaurant for 7:30pm – further announcements will be made nearer the time.
